Dating back centuries, Indian women stitched together old saris to create large blankets and floor cloths. We attentively pick each quilt, typically 60-80 years old, with an eye toward material integrity and unusual beauty. Our oversized throws are wildly versatile and beautiful when layered at the end of the bed or draped over a sofa. Aloka coverlets are stonewashed, lending them a velvety look, and are lighter in weight than our quilts. And of course, these hand-stitched vintage pieces are in great condition and have the signature softness you've come to expect from Aloka.
These are high-quality vintage pieces that we have salvaged, shampooed, and softened. We embrace the charm of the little imperfections, texture and tones created over time.
