Since 2012 weâve been making ceramics that celebrate simple pleasures - cradling a warm cup of coffee, pausing to burn your favorite incense, vases full of fresh flowers, shared meals with friends. Our work is deeply inspired by nature, rooted in folk craft, and designed for the modern home.
Our pieces are designed and made by artist Julia Lemke, utilizing a variety of production techniques from hand throwing to ram-pressing, slip casting, and hand building. Itâs a very organic process, and no two pieces are exactly alike. We celebrate the natural variations, and hope you cherish the individual spirit of each piece.
Our ceramic studio is located in Occidental CA, and each piece is carefully made by our team of 2 women. We love what we do, and itâs an honor to make objects that become a part of your everyday rituals.

In March 2018 we opened our brick & mortar shop in the Lower Haight, San Francisco. The location of our studio + shop is special to us, previously belonging to Revolver / Voyager Shop where Earthen first started as a side project. In addition to our ceramic collection, our shop features a curated collection of some of our favorite objects - homeware, apothecary, pantry + jewelry from independent artists.Â
