Cupuaçu (pronounced /ku.ˌpu.a.ˈsu/) is a fruit native to the Amazon rainforest, from the same family of the cacao tree (Theobroma). It resembles candied ginger in texture and appearance, has a cocoa-meets-pineapple scent and a tangy, fruity flavor with a delightful sweetness.
